Cheung Chau is an island about 10 km south-west of Hong Kong Island and has an area of about 2.3 sq km. Despite of its small size and short distance, there are now over 60,000 people living on Cheung Chau Island, making it the most densely populated and developed island among the outlying islands in Hong Kong.
