Formation of vein

Vein is a kind of intrusion in rocks.

Hot underground water which is saturated with dissolved mineral intruded into the joints or cracks of solid rocks. Later, it cooled down and solidified, forming irregular branches of mineral.

The veins shown in the photo is made up of quartz. Since quartz is more resistant to weathering and erosion, it looks like glue spread on the ground.
